Both of these sides have been in good form in this opening part of the campaign so we should be in for a thrilling spectacle on Tuesday night.

After a blistering start to the season which saw them win their first four league matches, Wolves have gone off the boil a bit recently with just four points taken from a possible nine in their last three games. However, the fact they won last time out shows they are at least now heading back towards the right track.

Wolves’ solid defence has been the best aspect of their performances so far with the team keeping four clean sheets in their six Championship games. They do perhaps struggle a bit in the final third with just eight league goals scored so far – the joint-second-worst record in the top 10. However, when they do score, it tends to be in the first half with 62% of their total coming in the first 45 minutes.

Molineux has been a fortress for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side with four wins and four clean sheets from five home games in all competitions so far. Their loss to table-toppers Cardiff back in August is the only blot on their copybook.

After suffering just one defeat so far this season, Bristol City are being seen as a potential promotion candidate by many and so head into this match at high-flying Wolves with a fair bit of confidence.

The Robins have not been spectacular at either end of the pitch with eight goals scored and six conceded in their six league outings. However, they have found the back of the net five times in their last three in all competitions. Additionally, much like Wolves, they seem to spring out of the traps in the first 45 with 62% of their goals coming in that period – identical to Wolves.

Lee Johnson’s men have been excellent on the road in recent times with no defeats since 12th August: including a League Cup victory at Premier League Watford. Furthermore, they have scored in all of their away matches during this campaign.

As alluded to above, I expect these two teams to go right at each other right from the off as they both have excellent first half goalscoring records. With this in mind, Over 1.5 First Half Goals looks a good shout at 2/1.
