On Friday night, Spain’s talented young squad will bid to make it three wins in a row as they take on a Serbian side who’ve been pretty poor at these finals so far. Given the way in which the Spanish have gone about their business at this tournament, it would take a brave punter to back against them securing a hat-trick of groups wins.

Serbia and Spain come into this final group game in contrasting form; on the one hand you’ve got the Spanish who’ve been very impressive in swaggering their way to two wins, scoring eight goals in the process. On the other hand, you’ve got Serbia who’ve somewhat fumbled their way to a grand total of one point from their opening two games. Neither of the Serbian’s performances have left a good impression and so it’s very hard to see them getting anything here.

Both ‘Spain to Win -1 Handicap’ and ‘Spain to Win Half-Time/Full-Time’ appear to be viable angles of attack ahead of this match. Not only have the Spanish won each of their first two games, but they’ve created a very good impression in doing so. In both victories, their wealth of playing experience has been there for all to see. On top of this, the likes of Marco Asensio, who showed his class by scoring a wonderful hat-trick first time up, and Saúl Ñíguez, who has notched in both games so far, have shown that they’re probably a bit too good for this level. With players such as these in their ranks, alongside several others, Spain really do have an awful lot to offer and it’s already starting to look like it will take a very good team to stop them.

Scoring goals has come easy for Spain in this tournament and it would be no surprise if they were to considerably add to their tally against a Serbian back-line that has looked very shaky at times. The Serbs come into this match having conceded twice against both Macedonia and Portugal and have shown clear defensive weaknesses in doing so. What’s more, however they set up here, whether they go for it, or look to contain, it’s unlikely to faze the Spaniards. Albert Celades’ men have already proved themselves to be both adept at breaking teams down and playing on the counter. Quite frankly, whichever way you look at it, Spanish goals look inevitable in this fixture.

At the other end of the field, Serbia have looked weak and were perhaps fortunate to score twice last time out against Macedonia. Going up against Spain is immeasurably harder and they simply showed next to nothing against Portugal on match-day one to suggest that they can cause the group leaders and serious problems.

All things considered, it’s hard to pick holes in the Spanish so far and, in what could potentially be their easiest fixture yet, they’re fancied to fly through to the semis in first place courtesy of another pleasing win.
