Can Nadal maintain his record against Djokovic?
Nadal showed yet again that he can overcome any difficulty he might face in a match in the French Open. In his quarter-final match against Schwartzman, Nadal cruised through the first set and looked set for a straight-sets victory but the Argentine won the second set.
The world number three lost his focus in the second set and gave Schwartzman the chance to get back in the match. The Spaniard was too short and defensive with his shots which gave the Argentine the chance to attack and hit ten winners with his backhand and forehand.
The 13-time champion quickly adjusted his tactics and started playing much more aggressively in the third set in which Schwartzman showed some resilience but Nadal came on top and won some very crucial points and the set. In the fourth set, Diego collapsed and couldn’t cope with Nadal’s game.
Novak Djokovic is keen to beat Nadal at Roland Garros
The world’s number one Novak Djokovic looks very determined to win the title this year at the French Open. In the Semis he will face his toughest challenge, Rafael Nadal. We could see his urgency to win in his last two matches against Musetti and Berrettini.
Novak lost his nerves when he lost the first two sets against Musetti but the Serb could regroup and took advantage of the young Italian’s collapse in the fourth set and won. Against Berrettini, in the fourth set Novak missed a match-point and showed his frustration by kicking the boards.
Djokovic is no doubt the best player in the world on hard courts, but he wants to prove himself as well on the clay courts, and beating Nadal at the French Open is the best way to do that. He has the chance to do that now but he must be at his best and control his nerves.

Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic Prediction
Novak Djokovic has the chance to avenge his defeat in last year’s final at the hands of Rafel Nadal. The Serb is done very well so far at Roland Garros but his record against Nadal on the red dirt of Paris isn’t very encouraging.
Novak’s first three matches were won comfortably but he looked shaky starting from his fourth-round match. The Serb needs to be patient with Nadal as the Spaniard has shown some lack of consistency in his last match and Novak can take advantage of that.
There will come a time when Nadal will lose his throne as the King of clay. Whether that time is this week needs to be seen but one thing is for sure, the Spaniard has still a lot of fight in himself.
We will back the total games of the match and we think we will see quite a lot!
