Match Predict – Handicap (-5) for Nadal

Nadal is back on track after injury and it looks like the Spaniard is in perfect shape. In the opening match, Rafa confidently outplayed Kecmanovic and we believe he’ll take on Goffin just as convincingly in two sets.

Total Games – Under 20.5

Nadal marked his return to his favourite clay with a confident win in two sets over Kecmanovic. We believe that Goffin will meet the same fate.

Preliminary review and match prediction for Rafael Nadal vs David Goffin

Rafael Nadal:

Nadal is playing on the clay for the first time this season. The Spaniard has been recovering from a stress fracture of a rib for about a month. Rafa sustained the injury at the Indian Wells Masters.

Nadal opened his Masters’ campaign in Madrid with a (6-1, 7-6) win over Miomir Kecmanovic in two sets. Nadal left no chance at all in the first set, and in the second it was all decided on the tie-break. He was clearly happy with how the match went.

Nadal twice lost a game on his serve, but he easily made up for it with a strong game. For his first match after injury, it was more than convincing.

Last season, Nadal was shut out in the quarter-finals when he lost to Alexander Zverev (4-6, 4-6).

David Goffin:

Goffin is on course for the current Masters in Madrid. The Belgian tennis player started with a qualification.

In qualifying, he first stopped Jiri Vesely (6-3, 7-6) in two sets before defeating Alejandro Tabilo (6-4, 6-4) in two sets. In the main draw Goffin beat Aslan Karatsev (6-2, 7-5) and Botic van de Zandschulp.

Goffin’s success in Madrid cannot be called a surprise. In the first half of April, the former world number seven won a tournament in Marrakech and made it two rounds at the Monte Carlo Masters. Only Belgrade was unsuccessful, where the 31-year-old lost straight away to Filip Krajinovic.

Safe Bets

In 3 of Goffen’s last 5 matches, less than 9.5 games have been played in the first set. We offer to bet on “1st Set Games – Under 9.5” with the odds of 1.48.
