The world number 31 reached the semi-final in Doha this year. He has just two wins in the three clay tournaments he played so far this season proving clay is his least favorite surface.

In the first round, Taylor Fritz beat world number 27, Dan Evans, in two sets. Fritz’s 1st serve percentage was 69% and he won 76% of points behind his first serve. His second serve was also impressive winning 77% of points behind his second serve.
