Djokovic for his 18th Grand Slam Title
It has been Novak Djokovic’s favorite tournament in Down Under since his first win in 2007, as the Serb is bidding for a record-extending ninth title in the Australian Open.
Novak has to overcome a tough opponent though in Medvedev. Both of these players have proved to be the best on tour at the moment.
Djokovic had to battle through intense pain with an abdominal injury in his match against Walter Fritz and it was obvious that he wasn’t 100% in the next two matches where he beat Raonic and Zverev.
In the semi-final, Novak gave a lesson to qualifier and surprise semi-finalist Karatsev, ending the Russian’s impressive run and showing no sign of injury.
Can Medvedev maintain his form to win his first Grand Slam?
Daniil Medvedev has the best form upon ATP players with a 20 match winning streak. More impressively is the fact that the Russian has beaten every active top 10 players during that streak including Djokovic. (He didn’t play Federer since the swiss is sidelined)
But to play Novak in an Australian Open final is a different story as the Serb has never lost a final in this tournament and this will be the toughest test for the Russian to prove that he’s worthy of a Grand Slam title.
Medvedev has lost just two sets in his six matches, both against Krajinovic in the third round. Daniil was almost flawless against Tsitsipas in his semi-final. The 25-year-old won in straight sets firing 49 winners

Novak Djokovic vs Daniil Medvedev Predictions
There is no doubt that the best players reached the final Of this year’s Australian Open. Novak is very hard to beat if not almost impossible in a final in Melbourne. Medvedev has to be at his best in every aspect of the game.
The Russian’s first serve is essential if he wants to trouble Djokovic. His most lethal weapon, the backhand down-the-line has to be in its highest accuracy level as it was during his semi-final match, where he showed his composure as well holding off Tsitspas’s late surge in the third set.
Djokovic is arguably one of the most complete players in history. He has the ability to dictate long rallies and one feels the longer the rallies, the more advantage the Serb has.
The bookies are paying 1.85 for a Djokovic win and 2.00 for a Medvedev win. That shows how close the match-up between these two is.
We predict both players will win a set.
