These two sides have contrasting aims this season with Notts County now safe from relegation and sitting in mid-table whilst Portsmouth are looking to clinch automatic promotion.

Notts County are on a fantastic run at the moment and have not lost in their last five, winning four of them. This means they have boosted themselves away from the drop-zone and are almost mathematically safe for next season.

The Magpies have been in fine goal-scoring form recently and have found the back of the net in each of their last seven games. However, this does mean that their poor defensive form throughout the course of the campaign has not improved and they have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three outings.

Kevin Nolan has come into County and transformed his new side’s home form with no losses since his arrival at Meadow Lane.

Portsmouth are currently sitting in 3rd, with an eight-point cushion over Luton Town in the play-off places, thanks to a run of no defeats in their last four. A win on Monday will see Portsmouth return to League One.

Pompey have been fantastic at the back throughout the course of the campaign and have the best defensive record in the division with just 37 goals against in 42 games and a clean sheet ratio of 43%. However, they have also been fantastic going the other way and have the second-best goal-scoring record in League Two with 67 whilst they have also scored eight in their last four league games.

Away form has been very good for Paul Cook’s side with four wins in his last five, keeping clean sheets in each of those four victories.

Although Portsmouth have been very good in recent times, particularly on the road, County really have been good at home of late and could make life very tough for the visitors here. With the added pressure to secure promotion here, the visitors could falter and thus backing Notts County, who have a fantastic recent home record, on the ‘Double Chance’ market represents good value.
