Late heroics for Leeds

In a competitive game at Elland Road on Tuesday night, Leeds secured their first win in four matches thanks to a 93rd minute penalty from Raphinha against Crystal Palace.

There were few shots on goal and prior to this Palace came so close to opening the scoring with their only shot on target, goalkeeper Illan Meslier scrambled to stop Christian Benteke’s glancing shot trickling over the line.

The late win eases the pressure on Leeds as they now go five points clear from the relegation zone with a chance to now build some momentum against Brentford before taking on four of the league’s top five.

Brentford struggling to put a run together

It was back to losing ways for Brentford after their 2-0 away defeat to Tottenham on Thursday night, after beating Everton 1-0 last Sunday.

So far this Premier League season Brentford are yet to win two games in a row, however, they are sat in 12th spot for now, level with Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

They are still in a good position currently and ahead of their opponents Leeds, but their recent form is relegation form and Brentford will be looking worryingly over their shoulders at the chasing pack.
