Hertha Berlin’s struggles continued last time out, as they came off second best against Freiburg, losing by three goals to nil, rarely threatening in the process. It’s now seven games without a win for the hosts, who have slipped to a miserable 16th place. Only four points separates Saturday’s hosts and the automatic relegation spots.

Even at home, the Hertha boys have been struggling to shift through the gears, losing three of their last four. They’ve not won at home since that dogged win against Dortmund back in December. Fortunately, Tayfun Korkut’s men, who’ve had plenty of offensive struggled this season, have scored in each of their 12 home matches this season, though in recent weeks, they’ve not exactly impressed in that sense, scoring no more than once in any of their last four in front of a home crowd.

Luckily for the out-of-form hosts, Saturday’s visitors have been struggling of late too. Ordinarily, a one-goal defeat against the imperius Bayern Munich would be considered respectable, though it was probably hard for the Frankfurt boys to take positives from that defeat when it signalled three defeats on the bounce. Not only have they lost three on the spin, but Frankfurt have now gone three games without scoring.

Recent away form hasn’t been too bad as far as Oliver Glasner’s men are concerned, as they’ve only lost one of their last four, while scoring goals away from home is proving to be easier than scoring at Deutsche Bank Park. The visitors have scored two or more goals in five of their last seven on the road, so they really ought to fancy themselves in an offensive sense on Saturday.
