Having lost first time up, Czech Republic defied the expectations of most onlookers as they bounced back to defeat Italy in convincing fashion last time out, scoring three goals in the process. Such a victory was impressive, especially considering the Italians are known for being notoriously hard to beat. That result not only means that the Czech’s can still qualify for the semi-finals, but that they come into this fixture with renewed confidence.

Unfortunately, after losing both of their opening fixtures, Denmark are effectively out of the competition and so, in contrast to the Czech’s, there probably isn’t too much confidence flying about the Danish changing room at present. With the way things are set up, this is a massive opportunity for the Czech Republic to book their place in the last four. The bets that stands out are ‘Czech Republic to Win & Over 2.5 Goals’, at 13/10, and ‘Czech Republic to Win & Both Teams to Score’ at 2/1. With their goal-difference currently standing at zero, they will need to score goals here in order to better Slovakia’s goal-difference of three. The Czech’s will also need to better Portugal’s result against Macedonia so they’re expected to come into this game and attack from the off.

After a rather poor performance against Germany first time up, Vítězslav Lavička saw his side perk up against the Italians as they played their way to a deserved 3-1 victory. Despite showing little in the way of attacking firepower against the Germans, the Czech’s proved that they’ve certainly got what it takes to score goals and simply have to be fancied to do so against a Danish side that has conceded five goals in two games. What’s more, barring that below-par performance against a decent Germany side, Czech Republic are very often among the goals with them scoring no less than 12 goals in their last five matches, four of which saw ‘Czech Republic to Win & Over 2.5 Goals’ land in comfortable fashion.

Unlike their opponents, it has been putting the ball in the back of the net that has held Denmark back in recent times, although their lack of defensive solidity has also played its part too. At the back, they’re simply all over the place and have caved all too easily in both matches at this tournament so far. However, Niels Frederiksen’s men did show a bit more going forward against the Germans and, with the Czech’s pushing for goals in this match, it wouldn’t be the greatest surprise if they were to finally break their goal-scoring duck at these finals.

All in all, it’s tough to see anything other than a Czech win here. They might concede a few – just one clean sheet in their last five and none at this tournament so far – but they’ve certainly got the tools to do some damage and it is their superior attacking quality that can see the Czech’s through here.
