Bochum vs Dortmund Predictions and Betting Tips
Bochum vs Dortmund Key Stats
- Dortmund have lost 50% of their travelling Bundesliga fixtures this season.
- Bochum have won four out of six at home in the Bundesliga this term.
- Only two of the six Bundesliga teams to travel to Vonovia Ruhrstadion have scored.
Another move in the right direction
For Bochum, the wins just keep on coming. When they were promoted from the 2. Bundesliga at the end of last season, Saturday’s hosts probably didn’t have their sights set on an assault on the top half of the table, but a top-half candidate they most certainly are.
Thomas Reis’s men made it two wins from two last time out, scoring three goals on route to victory away at Augsburg. They’ve now won three of their last four too, while at home they’re unbeaten in four, winning each of their last three in front of what is fast becoming an expectant crowd at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.
Up and down
Dortmund’s inconsistent run continued last time out in the league, as they were unable to build on their win against Wolfsburg, losing by three goals to two against league leaders Bayern Munich. Of course, losing against the best team in the division is never the end of the world, and their defeat was narrow, though Marco Rose will want to see some consistency soon.
The boys in yellow did bounce back during the week, posting a resounding UCL win, beating Besiktas by five goals to nil. Having got back on track, defensively as much as anything, Saturday’s visitors will be looking to return to winning ways in the league.
Bochum vs Dortmund Predictions
Given the disparity in size of club, Dortmund will always be favourites for this type of clash, but bettors really shouldn’t be put off a bet that favours the hosts. Bochum continues to prove to be a tough nut to crack this term. They can mix it defensively at home, conceding just a single goal in their last four, while they can tussle offensively, and it’s not just the weaker teams that they beat, as recent home wins against top-half sides shows.
Meanwhile, Dortmund have struggled at times on the road, especially defensively. Yes, they have plenty of firepower, but the visitors are prone to off-days in that department, and if this fixture becomes about who can grind it out best, then the hosts can thrive. All in all, the earlier prices don’t appear to accurately reflect Bochum’s chances of getting a positive result and thus ‘Bochum Draw No Bet’ appeals as a value play.
