Arminia Bielefeld vs FC Koln Predictions and Betting Tips
Arminia Bielefeld vs FC Koln Key Stats
- Only Greuther Furth has accumulated less home points than Arminia Bielefeld this season.
- According to expected goals, Arminia are the second-least creative team at home in the Bundesliga this term.
- In the Bundesliga, only Leverkusen have conceded more shots on target at home than Bielefeld this season.
Another positive step
In general, losing brings with it few positives, though there were certainly positives to be taken from Arminia’s narrow defeat away against Bayern Munich last weekend. Yes, they were outclassed as they were always going to be, but they stuck to their task, dug deep, defended stoutly and limited the league leaders to just a single goal.
Prior to tasting defeat at the Allianz Arena, Armenia picked up a pleasing draw against Wolfsburg at this arena, a result that followed their first win of the campaign, so it’s probably fair to say that Saturday’s host will now be as confident as they have been all season.
Visitors on the up
The visitors come here off the back of some pleasing results of late, so they too should be feeling upbeat. They went three unbeaten when drawing away at Mainz, before they destroyed Gladbach, with a late flurry of attacking brilliance last time out, scoring four goals en route to a resounding victory.
Unfortunately, winning away from home hasn’t been something that Koln specialises in this term, though Die Geißböcke have done a reasonable job of avoiding defeat on their travels. OK, they recently lost to both Dortmund and Hoffenheim, but a trip to Schuco Arena should be less demanding, while they have held three of their last five hosts to a draw, avoiding defeat away against the likes of Mainz, Frankfurt and Freiburg, two of which are currently in the top half.
Arminia Bielefeld vs FC Koln Predictions
In their current form, coming off the back of a big win last time out, this looks like an excellent opportunity for the visitors to pick up their first away win of the season. Yes, Arminia have been in improved form of late, but their home record remains poor. Unlike Koln, who’ve kept things relatively tight against sides in the bottom half, conceding more than once at no point, the hosts have surrendered two or more in each of their last four at home. Moreover, the visitors aren unbeaten against bottom-half teams this season, winning four out of five.
