Odibets Ghana – Overview & Rating
Odibets.com.gh only operates in English.
Founded in 2018, in Kenya, Odibets are relatively new to the African gaming market. Since then, they have branched out into Ghana providing a service there since late 2020. It is the Ghanaian version of the site that this review will concentrate on. Odibets Ghana is authorised and regulated by the Gaming Commission of Ghana.
There does not appear to be any affiliate programs for Odibets and as you can only deposit money via Mobile Money through a Ghanaian mobile provider, the use of the website is restricted to anyone who does not have a Ghanaian mobile.
Design
The Odibets website itself is very basic with the full website version not even making use of the full browser. The web version looks like an app. At least with this being the case, it should be simple to use. The only bit of colour to the website is on the top bar which is green to match the Odibets logo.
The main page of Odibets concentrates highly on Football giving the impression that that is the most popular sport to bet on. Due to the basic nature of the Odibets website, it is easily understood and navigated. There is no clutter. The menu of sports within the green top bar is in no particular order, presumably, this is in order of the most popular sports rather than a traditional alphabetical order.
There is a mobile app version of the Odibets Ghana service and by downloading this you can get a free bet of five Ghanaian Cedi (GHs) which equates to roughly £0.60. The mobile app itself is available to download directly from the Odibets website.
Services
The sports that are available to bet on run across the top bar of the website with Football listed first followed by Boxing, Rugby, American Football, Basketball, Cricket and Darts. Some of the more obscure sports include Handball and Floorball.
There is no Casino service offered with Odibets. They do have the new Odi League which is virtual Football and they also offer betting on eSports.
In a English Premier League match between Manchester United and Manchester City, Odibets offer generous prices across the board compared to big bookmakers such as Bet365 and Paddy Power. On the win-draw-win market every price given by Odibets is better than Paddy Power with the draw and Man City win notably better, while in comparison to Bet365, the odds are slightly better on a draw or a Man City win with Bet365 just edging Odibets on the price about a Man Utd win.
A random sample of football matches showed that the average margin on pre-match bets on Odibets was between 1.5%-2.5% which shows the incredible value for the customer match on match.
Live
Most sports offered pre-match are also available in live betting. There is also live streaming available on the app according to Odibets though it is not clear exactly what sports are streamed.
A random sample of live football matches showed the average margin to be between 2%-3%. This is slightly higher than pre-match but still represents excellent value compared to most big bookmakers who offer margins of anything from six percent and up.
Freebies, bonuses and promotions
In addition to the free bet mentioned earlier for downloading the app, all new customers can also receive a free bet worth 3 GHS (approximately £0.40) upon registration. This can only be used on a specific free bet game of the day.
The free bet for registering and the free bet for downloading the app appears to be the only freebies available to customers of Odibets Ghana.
Customer care
If you want to get in touch with Odibets Ghana, there is a phone number listed at the bottom of their website. However, there is no live chat option or email address provided. The only other options apart from telephone are social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. The links to each are also found at the bottom of the page underneath the phone number.
Registration
As the method of deposit is through Mobile Money you must have a Ghanaian mobile provider to be able to register. The providers listed on Odibets are MTN, AirtelTigo and Vodafone. In addition to being able to provide a Ghanaian mobile number, you must also provide a Residence Passport Card or a National Identity Card.
There is nowhere on the Terms and Conditions of Odibets that says residents in other countries cannot sign up, however, due to the requirements above we believe it would be very difficult to sign up unless you are Ghanaian or you live in Ghana.
Financial Information
Due to only being able to deposit through Mobile Money the only currency accepted is GHS. The minimum deposit is 1 GHS which is also the minimum bet allowed. The maximum deposit is dependent on your Mobile Money account limit which could vary from provider to provider.
The maximum bet on Odibets appears to be dependent on the maximum payout being reached as on the betting slip if your possible winnings are above 1 million GHS it will automatically calculate as that.
The minimum withdrawal is 5 GHS and the maximum payout is 1 million GHS (approximately £122,000).
Reliability, integrity and safety
The Odibets site appears safe, it shows as a secure site when you log into it. There is no recognisable SSL logo on the site to show your information is encrypted. However, as you would be depositing and withdrawing through your mobile provider there is no need to provide card details which is very safe.
What’s missing?
The Odibets website could be easier on the eye. However, the website serves a purpose. Especially on Football all the betting markets you would expect to see are there.
We would suggest more opportunities to win free bets or more promotions to keep the bettors interested. This alongside a company that provides brilliant margins would be great customer service.
Odibets offers sports betting in prematch and live, betting on virtuals. The same services are available in mobile mode and Android mobile app. The bookmaker doesn’t offer an iOS mobile app.
