Getty Images   Cesar Azpilicueta has departed from Chelsea and signed for Atletico Madrid, it was confirmed on Thursday. Azpilicueta joined the Blues in 2012 from Marseille and will now return to La Liga after having played for Osasuna from 2007 to 2010. Following the departure, the 33-year-old took to Instagram to send a message to Chelsea and the club’s fans. The defender received a message from Mason Mount, who has also departed for the Blues and joined Manchester United during this summer transfer window. He also received messages  from other Chelsea stars, including Petr Cech.

The club have spent over $600 million in the last two transfer windows, bringing stars like Enzo Fernandez and Mikhailo Mudryk. As the club boss Graham Potter is on his way to creating a new team at Stamford Bridge, a number of players could leave sooner or later.
