Newcastle United ready to make move for Scott McTominay

Newcastle United are reportedly ready to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United this month, according to reports.

McTominay hasn’t played as much as he’d like since the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid over the summer.

And has started only once (Burnley) for the Red Devils since club action returned in late December.

It’s obvious he’s not happy with his lack of playing time at Manchester United and may look for solution this month if his situation isn’t improved.

And The Telegraph have reported that Newcastle United have expressed interest in Scott McTominay after learning he was worried about his playing time under Erik ten Hag.

The same outlet confirmed that the Magpies will make an offer if United are open to a sale. The player is said to be open to a transfer.

Erik ten Hag is a fan of the Scotland international and has hinted that the Man United academy graduate is part of his plans at Old Trafford.

Nothing has advanced yet between McTominay and Newcastle but things could change if the midfielder pushed for a transfer.

The report holds that Mctominay is widely liked by Newcastle’s management team and the North East club will bid if they are offered any encouragement from Old Trafford to do so
