Former Man United defender Mikael Silvestre has claimed that the Reds are not in the race for the title this.

Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United have made an obvious improvements since after the World Cup as they have comfortably played nine games unbeaten before facing Crystal Palace, winning all in different competitions and bringing in some confidence with it.

The former United defender made his claims as he lays critics on United’s performance in last nights outcome in a 1-1 draw vs Crystal Palace away.

“No, Man United are not in the title race. I think we have to be realistic and remember where Man United are coming from”.

“At the moment I will not consider them to be in the title race but if they are still up there in April then things can change”.

“They have to focus and keep their eyes on the ball. It is a long term project for the club and I’m sure that Erik ten Hag will not be carried away by the recent results”.

“I think they can continue down this good path and everything is really up to Man United now. So, still early to say for United”.

“For me, they need to confirm themselves as title challengers. It’s not because of one month you play well, get the results and that’s it. So, I’m very cautious on where the team will end up at the end of the season”.

Silvestre made reference to United’s present form saying it’s too early to call United title contenders as the Premier League is more competitive than any other League.
