Manchester United are looking to extend Portuguese international Diogo Dalot’s contract with the club, to keep him at the Old Trafford for another 5 years.

Manchester United’s defender Diogo Dalot, has caught the attention of Barcelona as they search for a solution to their persistent right-back problems.

The 23-year-old Portuguese international has been a standout performer at Old Trafford in the past year, cementing his place as the first-choice right-back ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

With Dalot’s contract set to expire at the end of the current season, Barcelona saw him as a potential target. However, Manchester United has exercised their option to extend his stay by another year, effectively removing him from the transfer market.

According to Mundo Deportivo , United is now working to secure Dalot’s long-term future at the club. The renewal agreement is said to be in an advanced stage, with talks between the Premier League club and the player’s agents taking place since the end of the World Cup in Qatar.

Manchester United has reportedly offered Dalot a five-year contract, the terms of which are still under discussion.

Dalot, who has a market value of around €35 million, expressed his happiness at Manchester United last month and confirmed that negotiations for a new deal were underway. With a five-year renewal seemingly close to completion, it is expected that the young star will remain at Old Trafford, making a move to Barcelona nearly impossible.
