Manchester United finally reach breakthrough in agreeing deal with Real Madrid top target

Real Madrid has recently kept an eye on some of the world’s most promising young players.

This has led to them being linked with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Josko Gvardiol, and others, as well as completing a deal for Endrick, who will arrive in the summer of 2024.

Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho is another player who fits that description.

He’s only 18 years old, but he’s already made an impact for Manchester United at the senior level, and he’s become a regular option to bring off the bench for Erik ten Hag this season.

Garnacho’s current contract with Manchester United expires soon, which has led to him being linked with clubs such as Real Madrid.

Someone like Garnacho would undoubtedly fit the profile of a player that Real Madrid has been interested in in recent years. However, there is some bad news for them.

According to AS (via Manchester Evening News), only image rights remain to be finalised before Manchester United and Garnacho reach a full agreement on a contract extension, an issue both parties are confident of resolving quickly.

Everything is expected to be completed in a matter of days, and Garnacho looks set to remain a Manchester United player.

Of course, someone like Garnacho could have been an excellent addition for Real Madrid, especially given the club’s lack of depth across the board.

The La Liga giants are said to have met with Garnacho’s representatives at the end of last year to discuss a move to the Bernabeu, given the winger’s current deal at Old Trafford expires in 2024.

Vinicius Junior is Carlo Ancelotti’s undisputed starter at left wing. But, beyond him, they don’t appear to have any real options, with Eden Hazard rarely being used as a substitute this season.
