“I feel relieved” – Antony makes admission after goal against Everton

Antony helped Manchester United beat Everton on Friday night when he opened the scoring early in the game and admitted that his goal was a relieve.

The Brazil international moved to Man United over the summer from Ajax and wasted no time to hit the ground up and running with a goal against Arsenal.

He scored against Manchester City during United’s 6-3 defeat at the Etihad and scored again against Everton on October 9 and that was the last time he scored for Manchester United before his opener against the Toffees.

However, he believes his goal in United’s 3-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup has made him feel relieved and ready to take the club back to the top.

Speaking after the game, he said: “I’m happy to score again, especially at home. I also feel relieved as recently I had a shock but I prefer not to comment on what happened. It was a personal matter, really hard. But I’m grateful to God and put it behind me.

“I’m 100% focused on honouring the Manchester United fans and the club. We all know the size of this club and we want to put United back to where it deserves.”
