Erik ten Hag Drops Surprising Insight on Manchester United’s Phil Jones.

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Haag has revealed that he has not trained with Phil Jones since he joined the club.

Phil Jones, the Manchester United defender, has been absent from training sessions since the arrival of new manager, Erik ten Hag. Jones, who is among the highest earners in the Premier League, has been plagued by injuries and poor form over the past few years.

When Jones first signed for United under Sir Alex Ferguson, he was seen as a future star for both the club and the national team. However, a combination of on-field struggles and a string of injuries have hindered his progress, leaving him to make just six Premier League appearances in the past four years.

Ten Hag has revealed that Jones has been dealing with an injury since the beginning of the season, casting further doubt on his future at the club.

“I can’t say (if Jones will play again this season). What I can say is that he’s not available for training since the first day of training this season so I think there’s not an opportunity for you to recover quickly and be available quickly.”

Jones’ contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, with United holding the option of an additional year, though it remains uncertain if the new manager will opt to renew his contract.
