Adrien Rabiot breaks silence on failed Manchester United transfer
Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has revealed that staying in Turin was the ‘best’ choice after his summer move to Manchester United collapsed.
Man United were desperate to sign a defensive midfielder after their attempt to lure Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona collapsed as a result of the player not wanting to play in the Europa League and were linked with several fine midfielders.
Adrien Rabiot was one of the names linked with a summer move to United, and several legit sources confirmed that Manchester United had reached an agreement with Juventus, subject to personal terms.
United could not reach an agreement with the demands from the player’s agent and had to walk out on the deal, leaving Rabiot no choice but to stay put.
Manchester United turned their complete focus on Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro and signed him in a transfer deal that could rise to €70million after on-pitch performances, with many fans hailing the deal as a massive upgrade from Rabiot.
The former PSG midfielder has spoken out after his failed move to Old Trafford and confirmed that he was interested in testing himself in the Premier League.
On his failed move to Manchester United in August, Rabiot told La Gazzetta: “It’s true, I had a chance to try Premier League experience; but staying at Juventus was the best choice
“I don’t think about future, I’m not in a rush about my contract [expiring in 2023]”
